In a statement in the House of Commons this afternoon, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that Covid-19 measures under “Plan B” are to be relaxed as of next week.

This means that following measures will not be required:

  • Covid passes in England will no longer be mandatory, but businesses being allowed to use them at their discretion.
  • Face masks no longer mandatory.
  • The end to work from home guidance.

The Prime Minister did state that restrictions in respect of care homes will be eased, but further details are to follow. Mr Johnson did state that there will still be a legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive for Covid-19, but further added that with the current regulations on self-isolation to expire on the 24 March 2022, he does not expect to renew them.

We believe that the above news will be welcome news to our clients.
